PORTAL - AN UNINSURED FLOOD (PS02)

Portal's second album release is a double cd, which captures the Boards of Canada sound with sometimes a darker surreal IDM type element to it. REVIEWS:

Portal's new album "An Uninsured Flood" arrived this week, and has rarely been out of my ears since. It's been a long, long time since I've come across something that has clicked so perfectly with me (okay, a couple of moons), but it's been more than worth the wait.
Okay, so let's get one thing straight, I'm not talking about the death / thrash metal version of Portal, and obviously, not the computer game sountrack. I'm talking about THIS one. This Portal dishes up lovely, whispering tunes, that shimmer with dreamy, fragile melodies and nostalgic, full-moon ice halo sounds. It's a simple joy to listen to, being perfect music for a tromp through frosted fields and wintertime woods, or for chilling under a low and ghostly full moon. Yeah, it's the kind of music that makes me go all wordy and use stupid descriptions for everything. Nice. Anyway, grab yourself a copy of "An Uninsured Flood", find a comfy, dimly lit area, and let your brains wander for a bit. - reviewed by Sefrotron
